Warbirds
III is a flight simulation game by Total Simulation Series, Inc.
Warbirds III skins are for both Mac
and PC users. Place the Targa files into the offline skins directory.
This
page is for Mac or PC users that enjoy Warbirds III, Warbirds 2004, or
Fighter Pilot Academy and now Warbirds 2006.
Below is a photo gallery of some of my favorite
planes and pilot skins. The pilots shown below are for use in BF109
aircraft. My favorite is Ernst Udet.

(62 kills -- second only to Baron Manfred von
Richthofen). Look closely and you can see his distinctive
red-trimmed commander's hat, Iron Cross and the Orden Pour le
Mérite (Blue
Max).
The skins that depict a swaztika are not
an
endorsement of the Nazi regime. See my feelings about the Nazis and the
Swazitka on my other web pages.
Most of
the skins I show on this website are in various stages of completion.
Some need quite a bit of overhaul, such as the wrong wing flaps and
navigation lights on the WWI RedFlame 109 on Gallery1. The tan-colored
Mars109 with red swastika needs major re-work on the panel lines. They
are too dark, show no rivets, etc.
Some have been re-worked and are ready, but my web page has not been
updated and my final versions are slightly different than what shows on
Gallery1 and 2. The one that is most complete is the blue-gray Crack109
with red swastika. It is ready for anyone who wants it.
My favorite skins are the blue-gray 109 and the Udet "LO" plane. They
show most detail in all levels of the PhotoShop graphic files. They are
quite accurate IMHO, showing panel lines, rivets, pilot face, rudder
control rod, radiator dirt, machine gun traces, engine oil and smoke
stains, wing flap and rudder detail, navigation lights, gear flap
lines. On the WWI skinned "LO" plane, I've added Spandau machine guns
with their distinctive perforated cooling jacket.
I'm making 109 pilot skins for Adolph Galland and Ernst Udet. Look for
them in a couple of weeks on my website. The Stuka has the best pilot
and will have an awesome Galland! Udet with his cocked hat is
coming!
What about the SWASTIKA symbol on my
planeskins?
I asked for permission to
post the red swastika airplane on Photobucket and was told it's okay.
Then I decided to try a search of Photobucket and found about 120
images with various swastikas, tatoos, flags/banners, even a Greenpeace
swastika flag!
